Iodine deficiency in China

Client: Westmead Hospital & the Chinese Ministry of Health

Description: This project involved two weeks of location filming in Qinghai provence in far western China with a medical team and a small 'two man band' video crew.

The main activity was the training of local medical staff in new methods for the early detection of cretinism and other conditions. The video side of things involved making five short films on both cultural and medical issues.

Raw footage was brought back to Australia for editing and some of the finished products were narrated in Mandarin and sent back to China to be used as training tools. A very memorable experience on many levels.
